Meet Dr. Sean Curry

Dr. Sean Curry has lived in the area for the past 12 years and has always dreamt of practicing within the community he lives. He opened EFCW in 2020 after practicing for the past 14 years near the heart of Chicago. While practicing, he learned of how the body can heal itself and believes the earlier a subluxation is caught, the less chance it has for creating lifetime of symptoms. Treating families, especially children, has been a driving force to fulfill his goal of helping as many people as he can. Dr. Curry and his family live in the area and are active in the local business community.

Dr. Curry has made quite a few friends within the local business and families. He strives not only to provide health care for the local community and strives to make his office a safe space for anyone looking for or needing help. You will also find him actively helping in area fundraisers and a member of the Main Dempster Mile business group, enjoying dinner in the many restaurants, and even getting a corn dog at the Custer Street Art Fair.

Our Community

Packed into slightly under 8 square-miles, and bordering the City of Chicago, is Evanston. It is a diverse and vibrant community of familie—large and small, singles, retirees, and students. Our community supports a thriving independent business sector, including arts organizations, medical practices, restaurants, cafes, and breweries, specialty hobby shops, bookstores, florists, and anything you could hope to find in a place we call "Home." The lakefront is our jewel and our respite in the summer, enjoyed by all residents.

EFCW is located at the crossroads of the Main-Dempster Mile—a commercial district that is home to more than 200 independently owned businesses—and bustling Chicago Avenue. We are easily reached by public transportation: the Main Street stop on the Purple Line el; the Main Street stop on the Metra Union Pacific/North Line; and the CTA 206 Evanston Circulator bus are steps away from our office; and the PACE 213 and 215 routes stop at Main Street and Ridge Avenue is only a few minutes away on foot.

Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic looks to remove interference on the musculoskeletal and nervous system, by aligning bones that have shifted out of their normal movement patterns from daily activities, prolonged poor postures, or repetitive stress. By allowing the joints and bones to move in their normal ranges, physical stress is removed, and pain is reduced. It also allows the body to repair damaged tissues in a faster manner and allows the body to function at its highest health potential.

Pediatric Chiropractic

Like their parents, kids have subluxations too. From slouching, texting, school desks, sleeping positions, and carrying heavy back packs, to slips and falls while learning to walk, all of these actions can cause conditions to form. Children often don’t have a lot of pain or swelling to let their parents know something is wrong, and will suffer for years, before getting correction.

Pregnancy Chiropractic

The 10 months a woman spends making sure her new child can come into the world as healthy as possible, cause her body to undergo quick change every day. This rapid change to the body adds extra stress to the joints and the muscles of the lower back and pelvis. Chiropractic care helps to assure proper movement of these areas, allowing for a less painful pregnancy, and in some cases a healthier birthing process. Dr. Curry also specializes in the Webster Technique for correcting breeched positions.

Active Rehab

A patient taking an active role in their care is a key component of successful recovery. EFCW will help assist patients in learning how they can participate in stretches, balance and strengthening exercises to prevent recurrence of conditions.

Home Care

Most stretches and exercises can be learned in the office and performed at home. This allows the patient the freedom and flexibility to own their recovery. In office instruction is given and rechecks are performed to make sure everyone is getting the expected results.

Supplements

Today everyone tries their best to eat as well as their budget and time will allow. But we all cheat. Using supplements helps to make up for what we may not be able to acquire through foods. Suggestions are made on a case by case basis and directly to treat what the needs of the patient.

Massage Therapy

Working alongside Chiropractic adjustments, exercise, and stretches, massage therapy works to release tension and restrictions in muscles that have been required to contract for a long time, or in improper ways for extended periods.

CBD

The new hot button in health and wellness, CBD oil is the medicinal portion of the hemp plant that works to help the nervous system regulate pain, stress, anxiety, depression, and inflammation.
